Big Pineapple OFC is the Pineapple variant of Open-Face Chinese Poker (OFC) β known in English simply as Pineapple OFC. "Big Pineapple" (倧θ θΏ) is the game's beloved Chinese nickname. Each player arranges 13 cards into three rows: a 3-card top row, a 5-card middle row, and a 5-card bottom row, and hand strength must run bottom β₯ middle β₯ top β otherwise the hand is fouled.
Unlike classic 13-card Chinese Poker, where all cards arrive at once and are set face down, Big Pineapple OFC is played face up and street by street: you set 5 cards to open, then each street you draw 3, place 2, and discard 1 until all 13 slots are filled. Every placement is a decision made with incomplete information β while your opponents' boards sit in full view. That blend of luck and deep strategy is why many poker players call it the most replayable casual variant there is.

Top row of 3, middle and bottom rows of 5. The bottom must be your strongest hand and the top your weakest β get the order wrong and you foul, losing all three rows.
Set 5 cards on the opening street; then each street draw 3, place 2, and discard 1 face down β four more streets, until 13 cards are set.
Compare each row against every opponent: 1 point per row won, plus a 3-point scoop bonus for winning all three β a 6-point swing at once.
Premium hands earn bonus points: a flush is +4 on the bottom but +8 in the middle, a full house +6 and +12. Top-row pairs pay from 66 up β QQ is worth +7, and trips up to +22.
QQ or better on top without fouling sends you to Fantasy Land next hand: 14 cards dealt at once, set 13 and discard 1. Premium hands there let you stay for another round.
Two or three players is standard β each player can use up to 17 cards, so one 52-card deck seats at most 3. Hands are quick, just a few minutes each.
Newcomers often assume Big Pineapple OFC is mostly luck. In truth it is a classic game of incomplete information: every opponent's board sits face up, yet nobody knows what the next draw will bring. Every placement and every discard is a trade-off between probability and risk.
The yardstick for that trade-off is expected value (EV) β different ways of setting the same cards produce different long-run scores.
